Blue Star Project

The Blue Star Residential Project in Staten Island, NY consists of high quality homes in a lovely suburban setting.

Lighting & Energy Services provided the design for the outdoor street lighting. The luminaire and pole chosen for the development provided neighborhood security and blended with the architectural style of the homes.

The schematic to the left shows a rendering of the subdivision lighting design.

Juvenile Justice Center

Juvenile Justice Center

Lighting & Energy Services was commissioned to redesign the dome lighting in the main entrance at Cleveland’s new Juvenile Justice Center.

The redesign process led to:

  • Reduced glare to better show the mural of a star nebula taken from the Hubble telescope.
  • A significantly lower energy usage.

MCR

MCR, located in Willoughby, Ohio, wanted to take advantage of the First Energy rebates for energy efficient lighting.

Lighting & Energy Services was contacted to perform an energy audit and submit the First Energy Rebates.

The rebates took into account reduced energy consumption and lighting control.  An added benefit was the perceived better visibility with the new lighting recommendations.

The recommendations included adding vacancy sensors to all private offices along with hi/low capability  Occupancy sensing was added in the factory to control those areas that were not constantly in use. The major energy savings in the factory occurred when the old style 8 foot Power Groove Fluorescent Lighting (in a continuous row) was converted to four lamp T5 HO luminaires.  Every other luminaire was abandoned.

The end result was an extremely satisfied customer.  The project payback was under a year.

St. Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral

Saint Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral

St. Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral, located on the west side of Cleveland, stands in an ever changing neighborhood. Visible from the adjoining freeway system the church met the requirements of The Sacred Landmarks Program of the Western Reserve Historical Society.

The society hired Lighting & Energy Services to design, specify and generate installed costs for the steeple lighting.

Lighting & Energy Services, working with the local municipal utility and an electrical contractor, developed a proposal which produced an overall low maintained- cost for the church.  It is a beacon of light in the neighborhood.
